Conde Favela Sexteto

Formed in 2009 with the aim of rescuing jazz and sambajazz themes, the group explores the instrumental jazz language, inspired by movements that brought innovations within the genre: freejazz, bepop and hardbop. Formed by Alex Dias, on acoustic bass, Diego Estevam on guitar, HarleyBuru on SaxTenor, Edson Ike on trumpet, Mabu Reis on trombone and Rafael Cab on drums. Residents of ABC Paulista with different musical backgrounds and orientations, the group practices jazz as an authentic popular manifestation, in a continuous process of development. Demystifying elite jazz and rescuing its essence from the ghettos, peripheral music.

Otis Trio

An instrumental music group formed in 2007 in ABC Paulista, the metropolitan industrial region of São Paulo. Luiz Galvão plays guitar, Flávio Lazarin on drums and João Ciriaco on acoustic bass. In addition to mixing elements of post-bop and 1960s jazz by John Contrane, Mal Waldron and Charles Mingus, the group has tropical influences from Brazilians Hermeto Pascoal and Victor Assis Brasil and from the Ethiopian Mulatu Astake. References are also made to European free improvisation by Peter Brotzmann and Pall Nilsen Love.
